Anonymous: Hi, I was wondering if you had any recommendations for AO blogs that aren’t D/s oriented? While I totally respect everyone’s right to do whatever they want in their relationships as long as everyone’s consenting, all that stuff is a big turn off for me. Like what you said in a recent post, AO doesn’t HAVE to be about submission and women being called sluts and degraded, but I have such a hard time finding blogs that don’t include that aspect. Any recommendations?

I myself try to have a balanced mix of content, some of which is a bit more D/s oriented, and some not. Other blogs often do lean a bit more in that direction, partly just because while there’s absolutely no inherent need for the anal only lifestyle to be tied to dominance or submission, it does pair well and appeals to a lot of people who already have that interest.

It’s something that would be nice to see more of, blogs that are still strictly anal only but with captions focused on people who have gone anal only strictly out of preference and pleasure. I’d suggest starting one yourself if you can’t find more that already exist.

It’s not typically the focus of my blog, but everyone is welcome in the anal only lifestyle, and men can certainly enjoy receiving anal as well as women. If it’s something you enjoy, go for it!

I’ve gotten messages from you for years across my various blogs, usually containing extremely hateful language and death threats/encouragements to kill myself. So I don’t owe you any response at all and the only reason I’m even acknowledging this message is because it’s the first in all that time that warrants an actual response that might be beneficial to the other followers of this blog.

Understand that not all blogs are alike and while there are certainly those with a misogyny kink, none of those are mine nor are they endorsed by me. And while I do encourage people interested in the anal only lifestyle to also experiment with clitoral denial and see what the benefits of it are for themselves and then decide whether it’s something they want, it’s certainly not a requirement for the anal only lifestyle, and I would say that the majority of anal only women enjoy a combination of clitoral stimulation and anal penetration. There’s nothing wrong with that if it works for them.

My encouragement to go without clitoral stimulation is due to certain benefits for some women who can suffer from a sort of depression and serious loss of arousal post-clitoral orgasm, as well as the fact that focusing on just anal stimulation without any vaginal or clitoral stimulation, it is often possible to unlock increased forms of anal pleasure and learn how to orgasm from anal alone. So the intent and focus here is in developing increased pleasure, not denying pleasure.

If you enjoy performing cunnilingus and clitoral stimulation on women alongside anal sex while excluding any vaginal penetration, that’s still consistent with the anal only lifestyle, so long as your partner wants the same. The fundamental “rule” of anal only is that you don’t engage in vaginal intercourse. Everything else is up to your own personal interpretation and what works for you and your partner.

You’re accusing me and others of saying horrible things about the female genitalia, but you yourself opened this message by saying that you hate vaginal penetration. Now, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that—I’m not at all a fan either—but it’s a bit hypocritical to say that and then accuse others of being hateful by saying they don’t like clitoral stimulation. Women aren’t just their vaginas or their clits, they’re people. And people are complex. Some might agree that their vagina or clit is their sexual/pleasure center, but others are going to much prefer their ass getting all the attention. You have your preferences. Recognize that other people, men and women both, have their own preferences as well and they may differ from your own, and that conflict doesn’t make the other people evil or hateful, nor does it justify your own hateful reaction.

I’d argue that the majority of AO content online is not that way at all, but there are some blogs that focus on that aspect of things. But understand too that it’s a kink and fantasy for the vast majority who post such content. There are those of all genders who appreciate it for that kink. This blog and its associated forum and Discord chat server are the “community” side of things where real anal only individuals and couples can share their experiences and other content. Since we do No Pussy November every year, and August is comparatively close to November, as of this year we switched to promoting Anal Only April instead of August. That said, everyone is encouraged to go anal only at any time of the year, it’s just that we actively promote the challenge during April and November. If you do try it in August, or any other time, be sure to share your experiences just the same!

At present, there are two “official” anal only challenge months each year: Anal Only April and No Pussy November. These are (roughly) spaced out throughout the year, at times that are conducive to a lot of people participating. (And they coincide with good naming opportunities…) We probably won’t be adding any other officially promoted months life that at this time.

However! Those months are just occasional promotions to encourage people to try going anal only, with the ultimate goal of people choosing to go anal only on their own and stay that way long term, well beyond and outside of those months. So if you’re interested in going anal only, just go for it! When it’s already something you want for yourself, a month or longer commitment at first is a great way to get started and stick with it long enough to get into the habit and develop a sustainable anal only routine. And if by the end of the month you’re still loving it, just keep going. Be sure to post about it and share your experiences to help inspire other people to do the same!

You’re right, anal is the best feeling in the world. You should enjoy it as much as you possibly can.

Anonymous: I like what you do here. You highlight all the positives for both sexes that anal brings. Anal is so much better I can’t understand why everyone doesn’t do it. So far I don’t see much about the lifestyle outside of tumblr unless I’m missing something. What we need is other media getting serious about how good it can be.

That’s the goal, showing the positives, and the reasons to do it and try it. Once someone tries it and has a good experience, it speaks for itself and they will want to keep doing it.

We’re still in the early days of the anal only lifestyle becoming more widespread, and it has a long way to go, but it’s definitely showing up elsewhere. I completely agree that continuing to spread it more broadly and openly would be great.

The Anal Only Lifestyle forums have long been the “central hub” of this community, a place not only full of conversation about anal only, but with links to the blogs and chat. As such, one would expect it to rank highly on Google for search queries such as “anal only”, “anal sex forum” and more, and for many years it was right there at the top of the list, with the majority of new traffic coming from Google as people searched for various anal only-related queries and discovered there was a community of people who shared their preferences.

As of several months ago, however, Google had an algorithm change, and in combination with adult-oriented Tumblr blogs being blocked from indexing by Google, most of the existing links to the forum have now disappeared as far as Google is concerned, and it in turn has dropped off the results for most search queries.

I’ve tried a lot of things over the past few months, and nothing has helped so far. Traffic is down to 1/6th of what it was before with the loss of new visitors from Google, and anything I try either makes it worse or it stays the same. Advice is welcome, though I’ve done a lot of research and tried a lot of things already.
