Message: What If Something Extra Comes Out?

Anonymous: Do you have any tips on how to prep for anal? I’m just petrified on the what if something “extra” comes out and that would just be beyond embarrassing.

Always go to the bathroom 15 to 30 minutes before any anal play session. Except for right before you need to go, the rectum generally stays empty. Try experimenting on your own with anal play to see for yourself and get more comfortable.

Some people will use an anal douche to flush out the rectum. The trick is to not get the water too deep—you want to clean the rectum but not beyond into the colon, which will end up causing a greater mess unless you then do a full enema (which isn’t advisable on a regular basis). For most people, this probably isn’t strictly necessary, but it can work for some.

But also recognize that sometimes, no matter what you do, there’s just a chance that there might be a mess. It’s really not a big deal, and if you have a partner who wants to have anal sex with you, they should be able to deal with any messiness that might occur in a mature manner.

Message: What Is The Best Way To Prepare For Anal?

Anonymous: I enjoy anal play however I’m new to it. My orgasms are strong fiercer and come a lot quicker than vaginally. My only problem is I’ve never prepared prior and I’d like to surprise my man with a gift by preparing. What do you suggest as the best way?

Do a quick anal douche to flush out the rectum—no deeper—and insert a butt plug for him to remove.

It can take some practice to just douche the rectum and no further, so you may want to try a few times on your own beforehand. If the water goes too deep inside you without doing the process of a full enema, it can make things more messy for a while.

Using a butt plug is a good way to relax in preparation for anal play/sex. Inserted half an hour or so before a session, you should be good to go.

Message: Daily Enemas for Anal?

Anonymous: Does I need to give myself an enema before any sort of anal(training, daily plugging, masturbation or sex)? Should an enema become part of my daily routine? I’ve heard that daily enemas aren’t great for you.

If you have a healthy diet with a good amount of fiber, probably not. Go to the bathroom before playing, and wear a plug 30 minutes to an hour before a major play or sex session, removing it in the bathroom beforehand, and it will likely help you clean out further if necessary.

Regular deep enemas are probably not a good idea. Douching (just washing out the rectum, not beyond) can be done more often, but isn’t necessary for most people. The rectum stays pretty clean when it’s empty.

Message: Enemas Before Anal?

Anonymous: Do you get an enema before anal sex?

Some people do. A full enema is excessive for most people most of the time, but anal douching can be beneficial for some people. The best approach, however, is to simply make sure you consistently get enough fiber in your diet (which is good for your digestion and your general health anyway!) and your rectum will stay quite clean all on its own as long as you don’t have to go to the bathroom right at that moment.

Message: Anal Has Gotten A Little Messy Lately

Anonymous: My wife and I have began to enjoy anal more frequently and we both enjoy going harder deeper and longer sessions which is even better, however I am relatively big (about 9 inches) and I find lately some sessions when I’m fucking her really hard in the ass have resulted in a little mess in the end which is a big big turn off. Not sure if this is because she is too relaxed, I’m going too deep or just normal? We have tried douching a couple of times but I think we might be doing it wrong?

Well, you should always be prepared for a mess even if there are things you can do to mitigate the risk. It comes with the territory.

With a healthy, high-fiber diet, the rectum should be empty virtually all the time except immediately before needing to go to the bathroom. However, the average rectum is between 4 and 6 inches in length (some are shorter, some are longer), and beyond the rectum you’re far more likely to encounter feces. So avoiding going too deep is one option.

Douching is usually only going to clean out the rectum itself. You’ll often need the larger volume of water from something like an enema to clean more deeply, but it’s not recommended to do full enemas too frequently.

Message: Cleaning vs. Diet For Anal Hygiene

Anonymous: Is there any cleaning tool that is used for anal sex? Or is it really all about your diet and all?

Some people use anal douches and enemas to flush out the rectum and beyond, and while that can work, it can sometimes be more trouble than it’s worth. Unless you make sure you’re thorough, it can sometimes create more of a mess than there would have been without it. For some people, it can dry out the rectum and irritate it, and if you do it too deeply too frequently, it can change the balance of your intestinal flora.

Message: Things Will Get Messy Eventually With Anal

Anonymous: You should also warn people that, if they’re going to have anal sex regularly, things are bound to get messy eventually. You might have anal once and it’ll be miraculously clean and perfect, but if you only have anal sex all the time (and why shouldn’t you?), it’ll happen. It’s no big deal, just an awkward but natural part of sex.

Certainly—it’s always possible. And as you say, it shouldn’t be a big deal if it does.

Message: Staying Clean With Anal Only

Anonymous: How would I go about properly being clean inside since I want to go anal only

A healthy and stable diet with a good amount of fiber is the best long-term way to maintaining cleanliness. Generally, with the right diet, you won’t have to worry about being clean as long as you’ve gone to the bathroom shortly before having sex. You can also wear a butt plug for a while before, which both helps with warmup and lets you check cleanliness when removing it.

Regular enemas aren’t generally considered to be a great idea.

Message: Keeping Ass Clean For Sex

getflymoreHow do you keep the ass clean for sex considering the fact it is a shit hole..

If you have good hygiene and a healthy, high-fiber diet, your rectum should be fairly clean and empty all the time except when you feel the need to go to the bathroom. Taking a shower to clean the exterior and then wearing a butt plug for half an hour or so before sex is usually all you really need to do to prepare most of the time.

How to Clean Up For Anal

analfellatio: Easiest way to clean up so you dont get many particles

The way it’s done in porn is to not eat much for a day and then take enemas until you’re totally clean (and probably keep taking them throughout the shoot). But that’s not really necessary in real-world sex, and can be too much of a hassle to be doing if you want frequent anal.

In reality, you can usually control your anal cleanliness by simply eating well and wearing a butt plug for 15 to 20 minutes before fucking. A healthy, high fiber diet will ensure you stay pretty cleaned out with minimal residue, and the butt plug—which, in addition to helping warm up for anal, also stimulates the rectum and can help to move things along if you will need to use the restroom soon—generally ensure a clean ass for a while that’s primed and ready to fuck. The rectum stays empty, assuming a healthy diet, except for right when you feel the need to go to the restroom.

Ultimately, however, you’re having anal sex. Prepare for the possibility of encountering something. It’s not a big deal and you can clean off easily and move on.

Have anal often enough and eventually you will run into poo, no matter how much prep and cleansing you’ve done. Just a fact of anal sex life.

So simply be mentally prepared each time you have butt sex for it to possibly happen. And if you can’t keep yourself from freaking out about it, then anal sex isn’t for you.

There is no hard-and-fast rule on what will work best or perfectly for you when it comes to prepping for anal sex. Just have to experiment and see.

With my partners (and with myself when it comes to being pegged or aggressive assplay on me), I’ve found that simply having a good BM not too long before sex, then a good manual cleaning with fingers and mild soap in the shower works fine.

And just from a dietary standpoint, I know what foods affect my GI tract. Some foods will run through me quickly, some won’t. That helps with timing of anal sex for me.
