Time to Break the Standard Porn Sequence

Any frequent viewer of heterosexual porn is familiar with the standard sequence of events—a scene typically starts with some oral sex, then shifts to vaginal, and finally gets to the anal at the end, followed by some ass to mouth and/or a facial. This sequence is stale, boring, and outdated, and no longer represents what the majority of viewers want to see.

Using services that allow tracking of viewership trends, it can be easily observed that the majority of viewers might watch some of the oral, before skipping over the vaginal scene to go to the anal action. Anal is what people want to see, few people care to watch vaginal, and yet the porn industry is still filming it as part of their standard routine.

When vaginal was a more actively sought-after form of pornography, this sequence made sense, both to appeal to a wide range of people and logistically—because of the health risks of engaging in vaginal sex after anal, anal naturally became the last part of the scene. Over time, as people grew to recognize the appeal of anal and wanted to see that more, it began to be seen as the culmination of the scene, with the oral and vaginal more of a sort of foreplay leading up to the real action of anal. And so people began to skip those introductory aspects more and more.

Despite the widespread appeal of and interest in anal, there are still many people who are unable to find a partner to do it with them in their personal sex life, so it’s doubly appealing in that sense, and vaginal even less so—vaginal is the boring, bland sex they already are having, and anal is what they want, so they’re going to skip vaginal in porn to watch what appeals to and interests them.

So why is the porn industry still stuck in the old way of thinking and continuing to film the standard vaginal scene before getting to the anal sex? Likely a number of different reasons—it’s a formula that has worked for them for a long time, there are still those who do want to see vaginal and this makes scenes more broadly appealing to a wider audience, and the fact that anal remains somewhat of a taboo in parts of western culture and there aren’t enough people speaking up about wanting to see pure anal in their porn.

Fortunately, this isn’t the case everywhere—it’s primarily a phenomenon with American porn producers, and European porn has largely shifted to be entirely anal or extremely anal-centric. There are studios which regularly release 100% anal scenes with zero attention given to vaginal sex, and others which treat anal as the default and only include vaginal as a secondary, supplementary form of penetration alongside anal. As they continue to shift further and further towards anal only, and more people discover their content, other studios will need to follow suit to meet public demand and to help inspire even more people to discover the value of pure anal.

I agree, lose the vaginal. I just skip that part because it is not why I watch an anal video. Also, can we lose the part were the guy pulls out and jacks off all over her ass and face? I don’t watch porn to see a guy beat off. I much prefer seeing a guy pump his load directly in her ass with them both really into it groaning with pleasure. That is after all what anal is all about; pleasure, not the obligatory, mandatory, “be all end all,” pussy.
